  8.                    VERSIONS OF OS/2 SUPPORTED

  11. MonitorMouse for OS/2 is compatible with OS/2 versions 1.3
  12. through OS/2 Warp 4.0 (or later). For OS/2 1.3 installations, see
  13. the !READ.ME! file in the OS2-13 subdirectory for more
  14. information.

  17.                       CHANGES TO THE MANUAL
  18. ----------------------------------------------------------------

  20. The current manual for MonitorMouse for OS/2 is version 2.1.
  21.  
  22. MonitorMouse for OS/2 version 2.2 supports the IntelliTouch E281-
  23. 2310 serial touchscreen controller. You may now additionally
  24. specify "2310" as the controller type on the MOUMOU0x.SYS command
  25. line. See pages 10 and 11 in the manual.

  28.               MONITORMOUSE FOR OS/2 ERROR MESSAGES
  29. ----------------------------------------------------------------

  31. If MonitorMouse for OS/2 displays an error message and does not
  32. load, MOUSE.SYS and VMOUSE.SYS will also not load. This is
  33. because the STYPE flag was specified on the DEVICE=MOUSE.SYS
  34. command line.

  36. On some systems, moving the mouse will crash the system after it
  37. comes up without MonitorMouse for OS/2 loaded. IBM has been
  38. informed of this problem.

  41.                   INTELLITOUCH TROUBLESHOOTING
  42. ----------------------------------------------------------------

  44. In addition to the COMDUMP and BUSSTAT troubleshooting utilities,
  45. (see Appendix C in the MonitorMouse for OS/2 User's Guide),
  46. IntelliTouch users may also run the SAWDUMP program under DOS to
  47. display the touchscreen controller's on-board diagnostic results.

  51.                      PROGRAMMING INFORMATION
  52. ----------------------------------------------------------------

  54. Presentation Manager applications can launch the Touchscreen
  55. Control Panel (ELOCAL2.EXE) with the DosExecPgm() function. It is
  56. also possible to directly call the calibration procedure in the
  57. Touchscreen Control Panel by executing ELOCAL2.EXE with a flag as
  58. follows:

  63.                     OLD INTELLITOUCH FIRMWARE
  64. ----------------------------------------------------------------

  66. If your IntelliTouch controller firmware is not version 2.2 or
  67. later, you will not get optimal performance from MonitorMouse for
  68. OS/2. The label on the EPROM will clearly indicate if you have
  69. version 2.2 or later. Contact Elo TouchSystems Technical Support
  70. (see below) for a free upgrade kit as necessary. Specify serial
  71. or PC-Bus controller. The new firmware triples the performance,
  72. doubles the resolution, and doubles the sensitivity of the
  73. touchscreen.

  75. With old firmware, you may need to use the -w flag described in
  76. the manual.
